The Lawrence Family Jewish Community Center (LFJCC) Jacobs Family Campus celebrates the 80th Celebration of the JCC of San Diego. This milestone honors eight decades of vibrant Jewish life, inclusive community programming, and cultural enrichment throughout the San Diego region. On Sunday, Dec. 14, the J rounds out its anniversary celebration with a joyful Hanukkah bash that honors the past, present, and future. The day will be filled with games, gelt, gifts, dreidels, snacks, crafts, and music.

This beloved community celebration brings families together for a full day of Hanukkah joy, all to support the Shalom Baby 25th Anniversary. From toddlers to teens, parents to bubbes, there’s something for everyone, and every ticket helps welcome new families to our vibrant local Jewish community.

Starting at 8:30 a.m., the J transforms into a Festival of Lights…and laughter. Guests will enjoy hands-on activities, crafts, games, music, and treats. Attendees can participate in any of the following ways:

The Whole Magilla: Gimel, Gimel, Gimel! This family pass ($200 for four people) includes it all – unlimited Hanukkah Happening festival activities, any Festival of Lights Run paths, and access to the Shalom Baby Bash. Plus, All-Access pass holders also receive a Festival of Lights tee-shirt and commemorative Shalom Baby Bag.

Shalom Baby 25th Anniversary Bash: Enjoy delicious kosher catering and surprise guests! This pass (at $180, also for four people) includes access to the Shalom Baby Bash and complimentary festival activities. This ticket comes with the commemorative Shalom Baby Bag.

Festival of Lights Run: Join in a one-mile fun run/walk, 5k and/or 10k race. After crossing the finish line, warm up with soup and sufganiyot! All runners can access the festival fun and games, though some activities may have an added cost. Tickets are $18/per person.

Shalom Baby joyfully marks the beginning of a family’s Jewish journey in San Diego with welcome gifts, festive gatherings, and connections that last a lifetime. Shalom Baby is designed to help San Diego families raising Jewish children celebrate the arrival of their Jewish newborns and welcome them to the San Diego Jewish community through gift baskets, playgroups, social events, holiday celebrations, and resource guides. This successful outreach program has expanded to meet new parents’ needs by offering infant massage, Shalom Baby Together – You & Me music and movement, baby book clubs, sleep solutions classes, and more.

Hanukkah Happening will take place at the LFJCC, located at 4126 Executive Drive in La Jolla. For more information, visit www.lfjcc.org/preschool/hanukkahhappening.
