Spreckels Organ Society, a non-profit organization curating concerts and performances in the heart of Balboa Park, is hosting a series of holiday concerts, showcasing San Diego’s Spreckels Pipe Organ, the largest open air musical instrument in the world!

On Saturday, Dec. 17 from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m., the Society will host a special Christmas Celebration at the Spreckels Organ Pavilion with San Diego Civic Organist Raul Prieto Ramirez and singers from the San Diego Opera. The concert will include Christmas music and carols from around the world. Christmas themes will also be projected on the front of the Pavilion, along with teddy bears and a Christmas tree.

Following, on Sunday, Dec. 18 at 2:00 p.m., the Society will also host its annual Christmas Sing-Along! Easily one of the most popular family-friendly programs of the year with traditional Christmas carols led by award winning local singer Lauren Leigh-Martin and Ramirez on the organ.

Additionally, the San Diego Suzuki School of Music will join Raúl on stage during the Society’s regular Sunday concert on Sunday, Dec. 11 at 2:00 p.m.

The Spreckels Organ Pavilion performances bring a one-of-a-kind experience for guests; the elevated music venue begets world-class musical artists for San Diegans and visitors to enjoy, for free. All concerts on the Spreckels Organ are complimentary to the public in accordance with the 1915 Deed of Gift whereby the brothers John D. and Adolph Spreckels gave the organ and pavilion to the City of San Diego. Donations are always accepted.
