San Diego Children’s Discovery Museum is thrilled to host its Science & Engineering Night on Saturday, July 23 from 5:00-7:30 p.m.

This after-hours event, presented by ASML and Hologic, provides the whole family with the opportunity to participate in hands-on science, technology, reading, engineering, art, and math (STREAM) activities. Through a wide range of science and engineering topics, children ages 0-10 are offered early exposure to STREAM education.

Science & Engineering Night offers families and children the opportunity to participate and develop interest in STREAM concepts. Many school’s curricula are limited in resources to provide hands-on STREAM activities making the Museum’s STREAM programs and events an introduction to science and engineering for many families, especially low-income, who may not have access to these hands-on programs.

“At the Museum, we pride ourselves in creating authentic hands-on learning experiences which spark a love of learning. Through events, such as Science & Engineering Night, we’re providing families with opportunities to build foundational fluencies in STEM education while feeding a natural wonder about all things from chemistry to robotics! This event is a terrific opportunity for children to engage in all sciences in a way that fuels their curiosity and imagination. We are so grateful to all the community partners who will be sharing their related expertise on the day,” said Krishna Kabra, CEO of San Diego Children’s Discovery Museum.

Through interactive activities children will learn about paper chromatography, robotics with Millennium Falcons, toy engineering with Ariel Shostak, and more. Plus, there will be exciting featured activities including, Escondido Fire Department’s fire truck and Dr. Bronner’s Magic Foam Experience, that attendees won’t want to miss! With a variety of workshops, both children and parents will leave with new knowledge and passion for science and engineering.

Pre-registration is required for this event. Tickets are $10 for members and $15 for non-members. Special discounts are available for military and veteran families.
