**Chris Hoolihan opens veterinary hospital steps from Star Theatre, where he performed “Daddy Warbucks” 15 times over the last 20 years**

Neighborhood Veterinary Hospital Grand Opening

Oceanside, Calif. (May 3, 2021) – Dr. Chris Hoolihan opens Neighborhood Veterinary Hospital of Oceanside, 215 S. Coast Hwy, Ste. 101 in Oceanside (92054).

**A grand opening celebration will take place on Saturday, May 22 from 12-4pm.**

Dr. Hoolihan and his wife, Shana, always had a dream of opening a North County coastal veterinary hospital. For years they knew that so many people from all walks of their life would bring their furry family to see Dr. Hoolihan…if only he worked closer to home. Oceanside has a special place in Dr. Hoolihan’s life because he has performed in the Star Theatre’s production of Annie, as “Daddy Warbucks”, just down the block from the new Neighborhood Veterinary Hospital, 15 times over the last 20 years.

Hoolihan’s connection to Oceanside runs deep. Including his many years with Star Theatre, he has also volunteered with Mainstreet Oceanside, serving as their master of ceremonies for the annual 4th of July parade, years back.

A resident of North County, Dr. Hoolihan is a 4th generation native San Diegan. He earned his degree from UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine in 1997. Chris and Shana previously owned Pacific Beach Veterinary Clinic from 2009-2019. After selling that practice, Dr. Hoolihan stayed on as the PBVC Medical Director until April 2020. In March of 2020, just as the COVID-19 pandemic hit, they purchased Penasquitos Pet Clinic and in November of that same year, they purchased Bonsall Pet Hospital.

In addition to an Online Pharmacy, featured services for cats and dogs include:

  • Dermatology & Allergies
  • Dental Care
  • Digital Radiology
  • Emergency & Hospital
  • Lab Services
  • Nutrition & Weight Management
  • Prevention Services
  • Senior Pet Care
  • Surgery & Internal Medicine
  • Ultrasound
  • Vaccinations

With separate dog and cat entrances and drop-off safety procedures, the new vet hospital is located directly in front of the Oceanside Transit Center and across the street from Dija Mara, one of five new restaurant ‘discoveries’ that Michelin rated last fall.

**Throughout the month of May, kicking off on Sunday, April 25 – National Pet Parents Day – the hospital will be incorporating a charitable component to their grand-opening celebration to include donations to Shelter to Soldier during the month of May. Shelter to Soldier is a non-profit organization that rescues shelter dogs and trains them to be paired with post-9/11 combat veterans battling TBI and PTSD. From April 25-May 31, San Diegans can donate items to help veterans and their service dogs. Here is a list of needed items. And, to help raise money for Shelter to Soldier via Amazon Smile, visit here.**

Neighborhood Vet Hospital is open Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. (closed on Saturday and Sunday). For more information, visit www.neighborhoodvethospital.com.
