It’s back – Small Business Saturday…spring edition, Saturday, April 15. Escondido has come together to Shop Small, not just during the holidays, but year-round, including this spring, prior to Mother’s Day, in the wonderful historic downtown district. MAGEC (Museums & Arts Growing Escondido Culture), Escondido Downtown Business Association, City of Escondido, and Visit Escondido are working together to provide a full day of shopping with discounts, special offers and prizes.

When you Shop Small, you’re not just supporting neighborhood favorites – you’re investing in a community. For every dollar spent at a small business in the U.S., approximately 67 cents stays in the local community. Shopping small makes a big impact on the entire community.

Spring shoppers can get a jump-start on their Mother’s Day shopping. With a purchase at participating businesses, shoppers will receive a scratch-off card with the name of another participating merchant where they can present the card to redeem a (free) gift.

Shop, eat, and explore downtown Escondido to discover pop-up artists – between 10:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. – plus live music, special treats, sales, and discounts. Participating businesses include Stone & Glass, Hawthorne Country Store, Cute Cakes, The Grand Tea Room, The Photographers Eye Gallery, Sunny Side Kitchen, and the Escondido Art Association, to name a few.
