**Family & Group & Student Concert Season Kicks Off With “Peter & the Wolf,” Sunday, Nov. 23**
(SAN DIEGO – Oct. 21, 2014) – Classics 4 Kids announces their 2014-2015 Family & Group Concert Season. The season line-up begins with “Peter & the Wolf,” Sunday, Nov. 23 at 2:00 p.m. All concerts are at the historic Balboa Theatre, downtown in the Gaslamp. General admission is $10 for kids and $15 for adults with premium seating (plus give-away) for $15 (kids 16 & under) and $20 (adults). Teachers are free.
Peter & the Wolf – Sunday, Nov. 23 at 2:00 p.m. – For Families & Groups of All Ages
Join Peter on this classic animal adventure, brought to life through colorful modern dance performances by the acclaimed Malashock Dance Company. Concerts for student groups are: Thursday, Nov. 20 and Friday, Nov. 21 at 9:30 a.m. and 11:30 a.m.
A Salute to American Jazz Greats – Sunday, Feb. 22 at 2:00 p.m. – For Families & Groups of All Ages
An All-American tribute to U.S. jazz icons in honor of Black History Month, with featured artists, including Vocalist Sherry Williams. Concerts for student groups are: Thursday, Feb. 19 and Friday, Feb. 20 at 9:30 a.m. and 11:30 a.m.
Once Upon A Tiempo – Sunday, May 3 at 2:00 p.m. – For Families & Groups of All Ages
Just in time for Cinco de Mayo, journey through the magical world of fairy tales with special guests from Southwestern College Mariachi Garibaldi. Directed by Jeff Nevin with both bilingual English/Spanish performances. Concerts for student groups are: Thursday, April 30 and Friday, May 1 at 9:30 a.m. and 11:30 a.m.
Classics 4 Kids makes classical music fun and accessible to all with high-energy, interactive student and family and group concerts. Following a custom in-school or at-home Classical Music Education Program, each concert is performed by The Classics Philharmonic Orchestra, a professional adult symphony orchestra comprised of local musicians, and led by award-winning Conductor, Dana Zimbric.
