The 102nd annual Coronado Flower Show is set to take place, April 20-21, 2024. Organized by the Coronado Floral Association (CFA), this is the largest tented flower show in the U.S. and Coronado’s longest running tradition, which includes an array of events leading up to and throughout the two-day festival.

“The Coronado Flower Show started out as a way to bring our community together through the shared love and pride of our beautiful, vibrant city,” shares Sara Stillman, CFA President. “Every spring, we unite in support of this cherished tradition, which brings together neighbors and flower fans from throughout Southern California.”

On Tuesday, Feb. 13, the event’s official theme will be revealed at a “Galentines” themed fundraiser and workshop for the Association’s members and guests at Jolie in Coronado. The public is invited to attend the two-hour event where attendees will learn how to create a special themed bouquet. Tickets for this event are $85; all proceeds will benefit the Coronado Flower Show.

Later this spring, the Association will host its annual meeting/fundraiser on Sunday, March 10 and will honor the traditions and people who built and grew the organization into the celebrated community staple that it is today.

As part of a prequel to the show, the beloved Coronado Flower Show kicks off with its local Homefront Judging Competition, April 5-7, where Coronado residents will prep and tweak their gardens, home fronts, and store fronts in hopes of winning the elusive blue ribbons. More than 100 volunteer judges will examine and award competitive ribbons to Coronado home fronts, apartment buildings, condominium complexes, churches, businesses, and school gardens.

Another prelude to the event, this year, the event will host a Family Movie Night on the eve of event weekend, Friday, April 19 in Spreckels Park.

The main event, the Coronado Flower Show, is divided into five divisions – Horticulture, Design, Special Exhibits, Youth and Botanical Arts.  The show has been a spring tradition since 1922 and is one of the largest tented flower shows in the U.S. Located at Spreckels Park, this two-day event includes landscape displays, a variety of floral competitions, educational lectures and demonstrations, live bandstand entertainment, food, a beer & wine garden with locally crafted beers, and shopping.

Another special feature of the weekend is the Saturday night party, called the 1922 Club. The event includes food, drinks, and dancing all under the iconic tents of the Coronado Flower Show.

The annual Coronado Flower Show is organized in partnership with the City of Coronado. Over 250 CFA volunteers work to make the Flower Show weekend a success.
