Golden State Ballet presents FROM NEW YORK, WITH LOVE, April 6 and 7 in San Diego at the historic Balboa Theatre, and April 10 in Orange County at the Irvine Barclay Theatre. From New York, With Love will feature the world’s freshest choreography from New York City icons – Justin Peck, Norbert De La Cruz III, and Gabrielle Lamb.
The triple bill evening will include:
IN CREASES by Justin Peck, a San Diego native, Tony Award Winner (Carousel), and choreographer of Spielberg’s West Side Story (2021);
HEMIDEMISEMIQUAVER by Gabrielle Lamb (GSB World Premiere 2023); and
SEMBLANCE by Norbert De La Cruz III (GSB World Premiere 2023).
Live music by J. S. Bach and Philip Glass round out the night.
The Golden State Ballet joins the iconic Balboa Theatre in celebrating its 100th anniversary this year. The Friday, April 6 performance will take place at 7:30 p.m. while the Saturday, April 7 performance will be a matinee at 2:00 p.m. The performance at the Irvine Barclay Theatre is scheduled for Wednesday, April 10 at 8:00 p.m.
