San Diego Children’s Discovery Museum (SDCDM) will host its first annual fundraising event since 2019 on Saturday, September 7, 2024. The event’s theme, “Ignite Their Spark,” is inspired by the Museum’s mission to spark a love of learning so all children can discover their wildest dreams. Proceeds from the event will support the Museum’s Access for All program, providing free and low-cost admission, workshops, and field trips to under-resourced families and Title-I schools in San Diego County.
“San Diego Children’s Discovery Museum is a vital resource for families and schools seeking high-quality and impactful educational experiences that build developmental skills essential for future success,” said Christina Piranio, Chief Executive Officer of SDCDM. “Nearly 40% of our visitors qualify for EBT/WIC/SNAP. Our Access for All program removes any financial barriers to receiving the early STEM resources the Museum provides.”
The event promises to spark curiosity and inspire a lifelong love of learning for attendees and future generations. Guests will enjoy a delightful atmosphere with live music by Ottopilot, hand-crafted cocktails by Snake Oil Cocktail Co., heavy hors d’oeuvres by Harvest Kitchen, a silent auction, and incandescent entertainment by Twisted Orbit while raising essential funds for early childhood education.
“San Diego Children’s Discovery Museum is committed to sparking a lifelong love of learning through playful experiences and programs,” said Amanda Flisher, Board Chair. “This event makes early education possible for more than 100,000 families who visit the Museum annually. Ignite Their Spark is the perfect opportunity for attendees to not only experience the magic of the Museum but also light the way for our youngest learners.”
