Summer is here, and the plant life at San Elijo welcomes the season in different ways! Upland plants shift into the foliage of relaxing browns and slip into water-saving dormancy, but salt marsh plants, irrigated by seawater, burst out in emerald green, like a well-tended golf course. We might spot tiny salt crystals winking from the salt grass, hear the Belding’s Savannah Sparrow belting out tunes from the pickleweed, or catch an Osprey playing a game of catch-the-fish. Fun and fascinating times ahead!
