Discover the beauty of San Elijo Lagoon: where fresh water and saltwater meet and mix, migratory and resident birds share a sanctuary, and many animals find a home. This guided tour will inspire all to watch and listen for various birds that rest in – and fly across – the salt marsh and mudflats. No matter the season, you can enjoy, photograph, and identify a host of native plants. The Nature Center Loop Trail is accessible, providing fun for all.

Saturday, July 12 from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m.

Wildlife Tour: Ages 15+ (Registration Required)
San Elijo Lagoon (meet-up location will be emailed to registered participants)

Mid-summer is a laid-back vacation in San Elijo. We may watch ducks taking a leisurely dip at the edge of the reeds, enjoy Bushtits playing follow-the-leader through the brush, or cheer on a bumble bee as he tries to find the hidden entrance to a white sage blossom. But will you see a Skimmer this time? The hunt is half the thrill. Ready for this summer’s wildlife adventure? The event is weather permitting as wildlife is unpredictable and there is no guarantee of what you will see.
