Well-known San Diego veterinarian Dr. Laura Halsey opens Tell Tail Moonlight Veterinary Urgent Care, 414 Encinitas Blvd. (92024) – a privately-owned and locally operated veterinary care in Encinitas.
Dr. Halsey is the practice owner and Medical Director of the woman-owned and operated hospital, alongside Dr. Lindsey Hackett, DVM, Dr. Shannon Henry, DVM, and Dr. Sharon Paz, DVM.
Dr. Hackett is also a Medical Director and Dr. Paz is also a Certified Veterinarian Sonographer.
Encinitas resident Dr. Hackett has been practicing veterinary medicine in the San Diego area since 2007. She has a special interest in preventive care, dentistry, surgery, urgent care, and internal medicine (especially diabetes). After graduating from Colorado State University, Dr. Hackett moved to San Diego to fulfill an internship with VCA Emergency Animal Hospital and Referral Center. Here, she gained vital experience in emergency medicine, internal medicine, and soft tissue surgery which she uses every day in urgent care to safely care for her patients.
“We are very happy to be in our neighborhood community, bridging the gap between general veterinary practice and emergency care,” said Dr. Halsey, who was just named to the San Diego County Veterinary Medical Association, as President-Elect, this month (January 2024). “We know there is a huge need to service this gap in care, complimenting general veterinary care.”
Now open, the hospital is addressing the gap between general veterinary practice and 24-hour emergency specialty veterinary medicine. Working together with local area veterinary offices, the hospital’s services include:
- Pet Urgent Care
- Pet Ultrasound
- Pet In-House Diagnostics & Radiology
- Pet Send Out Laboratory
- Pet Hospitalization
- Pet Specialist Relationships
- Endoscopy
- Surgery
**A grand opening celebration will take place on Thursday, Feb. 8 from 4:00-8:00pm.**
On Thursday, Feb. 8, the hospital will host a grand opening celebration – an official unveiling of the new evening urgent care. The pet friendly event will include a ribbon “chewing” ceremony, clinic tours, woodfired pizza, live music, and an opportunity drawing. Proceeds will go to Shelter to Soldier, who bring post-9/11 veterans together with trained, rescue dogs to help both recover and move forward.
