ArtWalk Liberty Station is back for its 19th year, bringing a weekend-long celebration of arts and culture to San Diego’s Liberty Station, August 2-4.

On Friday, Aug. 2 from 4:00 to 7:30 p.m., ArtWalk kicks-off with a Preview pARTy, sponsored by Ranch & Coast Magazine, where guests can get early access to meet the artists and view art pieces before the crowds. The $25 ticket includes a drink. The sneak peek event will feature “the nation’s foremost Jimmy Buffett tribute band,” Mark Wood and The Parrot Head Band, tasty festival food available for purchase and a variety of beverage options. Tickets are available at artwalklibertystation.org.

The festival celebrates creativity from both sides of the border, with more than 175 artists coming from across several states and Mexico to show and sell their artwork, including paintings, photography, glass and ceramics, jewelry, and sculpture. For families, there will also be a KidsWalk hands-on art experience within the event, with a variety of kids activities.

“ArtWalk Liberty Station brings fine art outside, under San Diego’s sunny skies to create the opportunity for viewing art under natural light in a gorgeous setting surrounding a rose garden,” explains Curt Brooker, Director of ArtWalk San Diego. “Attendees can purchase artwork directly from the fine artists. It’s a memorable experience to meet the artists and learn what inspires them to create!”

The ARTS DISTRICT at Liberty Station has earned its place as San Diego’s premier venue for arts, museums, dining, and entertainment. The fabulous outdoor setting features a verdant lawn and an abundance of free parking. The venue will have a perimeter fence, even though admission is free. The fence allows attendees to enjoy beer and wine (for those 21-years and over) while strolling around the event, rather than having to remain in a beer garden. Guests are asked to show their ID to receive a wristband to be able to purchase alcoholic beverages.

This fine art show is part of the ArtWalk San Diego brand known for bringing together all facets of the arts throughout San Diego, while promoting the experience of owning original art. Each of ArtWalk San Diego’s festivals support their non-profit partner, ArtReach San Diego, an organization aimed at increasing equity in visual arts education in K-8 schools throughout San Diego County by delivering free or low cost workshops to schools that have no other resources for art, focusing on Title One Schools. Many of the programs ArtReach offers are provided at no cost to schools.

The event will run from 4:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Friday, August 2 for the VIP Preview pARTy, 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 3, and 10:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 4. Attendance and parking are free. More information will be released in the coming months. Tickets to the Friday night preview pARTy are on sale now on the event website.
